NIE is a multidisciplinary university institute that offers undergraduate and graduate education programmes in diverse academic disciplines to local and international students, including the Sport Science & Management (SSM) undergraduate programme. The SSM is a robust interdisciplinary degree programme focusing on the scientific principles behind exercise and the human body, along with the management of sport organisations. It is the only undergraduate programme offered by a local tertiary institute that provides academic and professional pathways to sport-related careers.

NIE invites applicants to join the Office of Teacher Education as a Manager, SSM. This is a 3-year contract position.

Manager, Sport Science & Management (Office of Teacher Education) [NIE]

Responsibilities

The Manager will support the Assistant Dean for SSM in the planning and managing of the undergraduate programme. The duties include the management of operations and resources for classes and academic activities for the students in the SSM programme. You will play a pivotal role in the collaboration between faculty, staff, and industry partners to ensure the programme's success, alignment with industry standards, and continuous enhancements that resonate with OTE’s overarching strategies.

Duties include:
• Administration of the SSM undergraduate programme, including coordinating programme logistics and course scheduling, to provide an enriching university experience for students.
• Support the Assistant Dean in implementing, delivering, and evaluating programme activities, ensuring compliance with university policies.
• Administration of relevant scholarships and bursaries.
• Secretarial duties.
• Coordinate the programme’s admission and recruitment efforts.

Requirements

• A University Degree, preferably in business management.
• At least four years of relevant work experience in student support and programme administration, preferably in a tertiary educational institution.
• Proven track record in curriculum development, programme administration, and implementation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Motivated, resourceful, and able to work independently and as a team player under pressure.
• Experience working in a process-driven position.
• Proficiency in office software like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
