Job Description
Job Purpose:

To provide Job Support Services to trainees and alumni.

Key Responsibilities:

Job Support and Coaching

Conduct work readiness assessment, site assessment to identify job duties and employer analysis to achieve better job matching.
Actively involve trainees and caregivers to take proactive and self-determined steps in trainees’ career aspirations and development
Facilitate job search process between trainees, caregivers and employers (eg. preparation of resumes, parental consent for interviews, arrangement of job interviews, job orientation)
Coach trainees at worksite to fulfil required job tasks, while incorporating social skills, communication skills, self-management skills and etiquette skills necessary at work place.
Work closely with alumni to implement and review their vocational goals and complete individual behavioural plan
Mentor employers at different hierarchical levels to provide natural support for trainees at worksite.
Employer Engagement and Partnership

Source for new employers and employment opportunities.
Partnership networking
Manage and maintain robust collaborative relationship with database of existing employers.
Function as the main point of contact and service for assigned core / strategic employers.
Assess needs of new and existing employers, and deliver user-friendly induction and education sessions to employers.
Obtain feedback from employers on education and support provided.
Assist new and existing employers to access resources available to employers of PWDs.
Work closely with employers at different hierarchical levels to promote harmonious industrial relations, resolve worker-centric issues including grievance handling, conflict resolution, negotiation of terms and conditions of employment, and develop policies and procedures involving employment for trainees.
Assist in conducting employer survey annually for areas of improvement for training and coaching purposes.
Provide consultation to stakeholders (trainees, caregivers, CFA instructors, etc.) to help them gain a better understanding of different employers’ needs and expectations.
Work as a team with Allied Professionals such as Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, and Social Worker to mediate and manage expectations of employers and caregivers to meet the needs of trainees at work.
Administration & Others

Submit monthly reports to RO
Write articles for APSN newsletter
Update monthly reports pertaining to employer database, trainee employment records and waitlists.
Conduct case management meetings
Submit weekly and monthly logs to RO
Perform any other duties as and when assigned by RO


Job Requirements:

Degree or Diploma in any discipline with minimum 2 years of experience in relevant industries.
Possess minimum 2 years of relevant work experience.
Possess experience working with persons with mild intellectual disabilities (MID).
Patient, team player and able to co-create new content tailored for students/trainees with MID.
Passionate, well organised, meticulous & independent
Able to communicate with students, trainees, caregivers and associates of different culture/ backgrounds, preferably conversant in major local dialects (in order to provide consultation to local dialects speaking stakeholders (trainees, caregivers, instructors, etc.) to help them gain a better understanding of different employers’ needs and expectations.)

Established in 1976, APSN is a social service agency that provides special education, vocational training and employment support services for individuals with mild intellectual disability (IQ 50-70). Benefiting over 2,200 beneficiaries each year, we currently operate four Special Education (SPED) Schools (APSN Chaoyang School, APSN Katong School, APSN Tanglin School and APSN Delta Senior School) for students between the ages of 7 and 21, an APSN Student Care Centre for children from 7 to 18 years old and an APSN Centre for Adults for persons from 18 years and older.
