Broad Function
The Retail Pharmacy Executive is a key stakeholder in ensuring the success of WH Retail Pharmacy. He/She will work in a team under the Outpatient Pharmacy’s retail arm. The responsibilities of the Retail Pharmacy Executive can be mainly categorised into 2 phases:
Phase 1: Setup of WH Retail Pharmacy
Strategise WH Retail Pharmacy’s business plans
Optimise product range and create a framework for product evaluation
Plan future marketing and promotional activities
Execute procurement of pharmacy products and related inventory
Negotiate with external stakeholders (e.g. vendors) to secure the best outcome for WH Retail Pharmacy and our customers
Phase 2: Go-Live of WH Retail Pharmacy
Maintain and refine the activities listed in Phase 1
Track outcomes of retail pharmacy operations (e.g. sales, patient experience)
Ensure smooth operations of the retail pharmacy, including its digital presence
Seek continuous opportunities for business development and service expansion
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Specific
Work with Retail Pharmacy in-charge to propose the Retail Pharmacy business strategy, and source for suppliers and business opportunities
Maintain good working relationships with other stakeholders; pharmacy staff, nurses, vendors etc
Plan for set up time line and coordinate product evaluation and procurement timeline
Present business strategies, evaluation and procurement strategies to management
Liaise with vendors on sales strategy (promotions or sponsorships) and secure competitive pricing
Ensures competitive prices, evaluates and establishes contracts where applicable
In charge of ordering and purchasing of retail products and ensuring that it complies with the department’s work instructions and legal requirements
Perform basic sales analysis to support decision making for retail business strategy
Maintain a proper documentation and accountability for all transactions, and establishes an efficient system of document filing, information storage and retrieval
Liaise with vendors on goods related matters, ie stocks delivered discrepancies, out of stock situation, defective goods, urgent delivery of goods, pre-ordering
Manage retail inventory and ensure healthy stock levels with shelves that are well-stocked and tidy
Manage the prices in SAP and ensures that this is correctly reflected on the price tickets
Maintain Retail Pharmacy e-commerce page including item master set up, content creation and basic website design
Help out in duties to ensure the smooth running of day-to-day operations, including guidance of PSAs on cashiering, customers’ enquiries, goods receiving, unloading and shelves top up, stock rotation
General
Responsible for Retail Pharmacy overall business development, and ensure smooth running of retail pharmacy operations including support of procurement and day-to-day retail duties
Job Requirements
Degree from a recognised institution preferably in Business or Retail Management
Minimum 1 - 2 years of relevant work experience for Executive
Minimum 3 - 4 years of relevant work experience for Senior Executive
Experiences in online businesses would be an added advantage
Pharmacists / candidates with retail pharmacy experience are preferred
Able to communicate effectively in English (verbal, written)
Well versed in Microsoft Office and advanced Excel analytics tools
Have a good sensing of overall retail pharmacy business outlook, especially in the hospital setting
Possesses good working knowledge of presentation, negotiation and interpersonal skills
Ability to multi-task and prioritise deadlines
Good team player and exhibits willingness to learn
