Job Description

ABOUT THE NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF EDUCATION (NIE)

NIE invites suitable candidates to apply for the post of Assistant Manager/ Manager, Graduate Education in the Office of Graduate Studies & Professional Learning. This is a 3-year contract position.

 

Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for providing programmes and administrative support in the Graduate Education (GE) team. This includes, but is not limited to the following:

 

  • Managing the NIE Doctor in Education programme.
  • Managing the Dean’s Commendation for Research.
  • Handles the Graduate Student Award Ceremony.
  • Assisting to plan and execute GE Events e.g., Graduate Student Conference, Graduate Education Distinguished Speaker Series, etc.
  • Overseeing the NIE Graduate Student Club.
  • Managing statistical computation and projections.
  • Supporting the GE Associate Deans in Special Projects.
  • Covering for the PhD examination processes.

 

Requirements:

  • A University Degree.
  • At least 3 years of administrative experience, preferably in an educational institution.
  • Good written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Proficient in proposal and report writing, and minutes writing.
  • Good interpersonal skills, including demonstrated experience in teamwork and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strong analytic and problem solving skills.
  • Meticulous, with an eye for detail.
  • Able to multi-task and keep a close follow-up on tasks.
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, and able to adapt to changes well.
  • Proficient in use of IT tools such as Microsoft Office 365 and Adobe Acrobat.

Other Information
